Privacy Policy for SayTask

SayTask (“SayTask”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the SayTask iOS application and related services.

SayTask is designed to help users create and manage tasks using voice commands, manual input, Apple Reminders, and AI-powered language processing.

1. Information We Process

Voice recordings

When you use the microphone feature, SayTask temporarily records your voice command on your device and sends the recording securely to the SayTask backend for transcription and processing.

Voice recordings are used only to process the command you requested.

The SayTask backend uses temporary files for audio processing. These temporary audio files are deleted from the SayTask server after the request has been processed.

SayTask does not maintain a permanent library of your voice recordings.

Transcribed text and task commands

Your voice recording is converted into text so SayTask can understand commands such as creating, editing, completing, deleting, or listing tasks.

The resulting transcription and command information may be processed by our AI service provider to understand your request.

SayTask does not intentionally maintain a permanent history of the full content of your voice commands on its backend.

Apple Reminders data

SayTask integrates with Apple Reminders using Apple’s EventKit framework.

The application may access information required to manage the dedicated SayTask reminders list, including:

• task titles;

• due dates and times;

• reminder status;

• reminder identifiers;

• reminder settings.

Your Apple Reminders database remains managed by Apple and your device/iCloud account.

SayTask does not upload your complete Apple Reminders database to the SayTask backend.

SayTask is designed to manage only reminders associated with the SayTask list.

Device identifier

SayTask creates a random device identifier for the application installation.

This identifier is used for:

• monthly AI voice-command limits;

• abuse prevention;

• rate limiting;

• subscription entitlement association;

• service reliability.

The identifier is not intended to identify you personally and is not your Apple ID, advertising identifier, phone number, IMEI, or device serial number.

Usage information

We may store limited technical usage information such as:

• number of AI voice commands used during a billing month;

• Free or Pro plan status;

• request timestamps;

• service errors;

• technical request metadata;

• subscription status.

This information is used to operate the service, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical problems.

2. AI Processing

SayTask uses artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI to perform functions such as:

• voice transcription;

• language detection;

• understanding natural-language task commands;

• extracting dates, times, and task actions.

When you use AI voice features, audio and/or resulting text necessary to process your command may be transmitted securely to OpenAI.

OpenAI processes this information as a service provider according to its applicable API terms, privacy practices, and data-retention policies.

SayTask does not sell your voice recordings, transcripts, or task content to OpenAI or other advertisers.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

SayTask Pro subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple’s App Store.

SayTask does not receive or store your:

• credit-card number;

• bank account information;

• Apple Account password;

• full payment details.

Apple processes payments.

To determine whether Pro access is active, SayTask may process information supplied by Apple, including:

• subscription product identifier;

• transaction identifier;

• original transaction identifier;

• subscription expiration date;

• subscription environment;

• subscription status.

Our backend verifies subscription information using Apple’s App Store services.

We may also receive App Store Server Notifications from Apple regarding subscription events such as renewals, expiration, refunds, or revocations.

4. Notifications

SayTask may use local notifications to provide requested reminder functionality.

This can include:

• early reminders;

• hourly reminders;

• task notifications.

These notifications are scheduled on your device using Apple notification services.

Notification permission can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Microphone Access

SayTask requests microphone permission only when microphone functionality is required.

Microphone access is used to record commands that you intentionally provide to SayTask.

You may disable microphone access at any time through:

iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone

Manual task creation remains available independently of voice processing where supported by the application.

6. How We Use Information

Information processed by SayTask is used to:

• provide requested task-management features;

• transcribe voice commands;

• understand natural-language instructions;

• create and manage reminders;

• provide notifications;

• verify SayTask Pro subscriptions;

• enforce monthly service limits;

• prevent abuse and automated attacks;

• diagnose service failures;

• maintain and improve application reliability.

We do not use your task information for behavioral advertising.

7. Information We Do Not Sell

SayTask does not sell personal information.

We do not sell:

• voice recordings;

• task content;

• transcripts;

• Apple Reminders information;

• subscription information;

• device identifiers

to advertisers or data brokers.

SayTask does not use third-party advertising networks.

8. Service Providers

SayTask relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers necessary to operate the application.

Apple

Apple provides:

• iOS;

• Apple Reminders;

• StoreKit;

• App Store subscriptions;

• App Store Server Notifications;

• notification functionality.

Apple processes information according to Apple’s own privacy policies.

OpenAI

OpenAI provides AI processing used for transcription and natural-language command interpretation.

Only information required to perform the requested AI operation is transmitted.

Hosting and infrastructure providers

SayTask uses server infrastructure to securely process requests, manage service limits, and verify subscriptions.

Infrastructure providers may process limited technical information necessary to provide hosting, networking, and security services.

9. Data Retention

SayTask attempts to retain only information necessary to provide and secure the service.

Temporary voice audio uploaded to the SayTask backend is deleted after the associated request is processed.

Technical usage records, device identifiers, subscription status, and security-related information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• operate the service;

• maintain subscription status;

• enforce usage limits;

• prevent fraud or abuse;

• comply with legal obligations;

• resolve technical or billing disputes.

Third-party service providers may apply their own retention periods according to their applicable policies and agreements.

10. Data Security

SayTask uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.

Communication between the SayTask application and backend is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections.

Subscription transactions received from Apple are cryptographically verified before Pro access is granted.

However, no internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Choices

You control whether SayTask can access certain iOS features.

Permissions may be reviewed or revoked through iOS Settings, including:

• Microphone;

• Reminders;

• Notifications.

You may also cancel or manage a SayTask Pro subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.

12. Access and Deletion Requests

You may contact us to request information about backend data associated with your SayTask installation or to request deletion where applicable.

Because SayTask does not require a traditional user account, we may need information sufficient to identify the relevant application installation or subscription record.

Deleting the SayTask application does not automatically delete reminders stored in your Apple Reminders/iCloud account.

Apple-managed information may need to be managed separately through Apple services.

13. Children’s Privacy

SayTask is not specifically directed to children under the age required to independently consent to online services in their jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.

14. International Processing

Service providers used by SayTask may process information in countries other than your country of residence.

Where required, appropriate safeguards are used in accordance with applicable data-protection law.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SayTask develops or legal and technical requirements change.

When material changes are made, the updated version will be published with a revised effective date.
